Jeffrey Bozeman traveled to Alaska to fish with the River Wranglers outfit on the Klutina river 100 miles inland from the Gulf of Alaska near Port Valdez. Jeff caught a limit of 6 sockeye salmon, 1 buck and 5 hen. He was using the lining technique and all fish were caught from 1 to 8 ft' from the bank. State regulations were increased this year to double the daily legal limit to 6 fish due to the large numbers of fish in the region

J. Michael and Chris put in at Bird Island and went to Starvation Point just North of the Tide Gauge. Around 10:30 the wind got up and they decided to fish their way back to the ramp. They were both throwing topwater baits in yellow and white and blue and chrome. Fishing over hard packed sand in about 18" of water they caught 4 "Big Girls" After two fish each they left them biting as the trout were taking the baits deep and they didn't want to risk killing these big fish. Our fishery would be so great if we all would be this disciplined. J.Michael was using his new BOZEROD for the first time and loved the way it fished. Great trip and thanks for doing it right

Sorry no fish pics, I haven't learned how to take a picture of myself holding a fish. Managed to catch 4 trout from 16 to 23 inches Monday morning. I was free-lining Croaker for the first time this year. The baits were just big enough but will be a better size in a couple of weeks. I tie a 18-24" section of 25 lb Florocarbon onto the end of 30 lb Power Pro Super 8 Slick line and finish with a Mustad Ultra Point 5/0 Croaker hook. I fished with a couple of 10 mm, chartreuse beads and a brass clicker ring and without, seem to get more pick-ups without the beads this time. I was still dealing with a Northerly wind albeit light. The water was very high in South Bay, caught it at the end of an incoming tide. Clarity was about 80% I was wading the Southern bank, casting up current and letting it sweep down current. All the trout were very heavy with eggs and were released to be caught again. Talked to Brent Hopkins of Ace In The Hole guide service a little Sunday afternoon. Brent is spending most of his time putting his customers on Redfish as the trout are scattered and you have to make a lot of moves to fill the coolers. Go fishing when you can and please release any fish you dont need, dont leave trash and be courteous to other fishermen. Almost forgot I had a chance to use the new Revo 3rd generation Inshore reel. This is a great casting reel with tons of drag and very fast line pick-up. I plan on using it every time I go and am interested in seeing how it handles the salt environment Michael
