Sorry no fish pics, I haven't learned how to take a picture of myself holding a fish. Managed to catch 4 trout from 16 to 23 inches Monday morning. I was free-lining Croaker for the first time this year. The baits were just big enough but will be a better size in a couple of weeks. I tie a 18-24" section of 25 lb Florocarbon onto the end of 30 lb Power Pro Super 8 Slick line and finish with a Mustad Ultra Point 5/0 Croaker hook. I fished with a couple of 10 mm, chartreuse beads and a brass clicker ring and without, seem to get more pick-ups without the beads this time. I was still dealing with a Northerly wind albeit light. The water was very high in South Bay, caught it at the end of an incoming tide. Clarity was about 80% I was wading the Southern bank, casting up current and letting it sweep down current. All the trout were very heavy with eggs and were released to be caught again. Talked to Brent Hopkins of Ace In The Hole guide service a little Sunday afternoon. Brent is spending most of his time putting his customers on Redfish as the trout are scattered and you have to make a lot of moves to fill the coolers. Go fishing when you can and please release any fish you dont need, dont leave trash and be courteous to other fishermen. Almost forgot I had a chance to use the new Revo 3rd generation Inshore reel. This is a great casting reel with tons of drag and very fast line pick-up. I plan on using it every time I go and am interested in seeing how it handles the salt environment Michael

Great Day at Bob Hall. Joe and his son Michael had some great Red action that afternoon. They lost 6 fish due to leader failure. Joe said they started using my Red Rigs and were able to land 6 all oversize the largest at 41.5 inches

Miachel had quite a suprise. He put on a Got Leaders RRD90 and baited one hook with pinfish and the second with crab. After a short time somthing bent his rod over severely and after about 15 minutes he was able to reel in and land two oversized reds at the same time. One was 36" and the other measured out at 35". I doubt he will forget this day fishing with dad very soon. Great job guys

Bob Barnett and his wife were fishing about 500 yards inside the big jetties. The currrent was gone and the day was warm. Fish was caught live lining a 6" croaker. Hise wife caught its twin the day before fishing pinfish on a bottom rig

Seth and I wade fished South Bay a little Monday morning. Water low and not very clean. Wind out of the East early turning to the Southeast later. Tide was coming in but stopped after about an hour. Pretty slow, we caught 3 trout ( one was 25"), 1 hardhead and 1 skipjack in two hours. Talked to several fishermen that said the trout bite was great until about 2 weeks ago then it fell off. By my logs it should pick up again in a couple more weeks. Had a good time fishin with my son. I kept one fish (first one this year) because He wanted to take some home. Be safe and release what you dont need

Had a chance to fish for a bit Monday morning. Waded around South Bay near South Bay Bait shop at 8 am. Water warm enough to wet wade, sunny and almost no wind. Water was high and tide coming in strong and clear. Skipjack busting ribbon fish in the channel and lots of Sargassum drifting by. Started with shrimp and alameda poppin cork. Caught 1 tout to 16" and another to 19". Removed cork and free-lined live shrimp. Caught 10 more trout they averged 20 inches with the largest being 21's. Caught 3 reds, (2) 27's and a 20". One 23" sheephead and 1 skipjack for good measure.All were released to fight another day. All were caught with the new 200 G7 Curado. Using 30# Power Pro Super Slick 8 rigged to a 24" flourocarbon leader and 6/0 croaker hook. The two 27 inch reds were caught back to back and managed to pull drag quite a bit.The G7 cast free-lined shrimp as well as the Calais I used some last year. The reel performed great and I plan to use it a lot in the future. At about 9:45 am the wind picked up a little out of the NNE forming a light chop on the water. The bite slowed and being low on bait I called it a day. Days like this dont happen often but eventually even a blind hog finds an acorn
